Air condition

To activate the AC, please insert your room key into the try underneath it. There’s a remote control available. In order to protect the environment, please switch off the AC when you leave your room.

Airport transfer

We will happily organize your private transfer to the airport at the reception.


Each room comes equipped with an universal connection plug board . In case you still need an adapter, please contact the reception.

African Night

Each Friday we host an African Night, a themed dinner with authentic Kenyan cuisine and live cooking.


For your own safety as well as the well-being of the animals, it is now allowed to feed any animals on the hotel compound.


Our animation team offers a weekly program of sports, activities and entertainment for both young and old. You can find the schedule board above the amphitheatre.

Baby crib

We will happily provide you with a baby crib.

Baby food

Our tap water is no drinking water. For the preparation of baby food, please use the bottles of water readily available at your room.


You can request our babysitter for children up to the age of 8 at the reception, where you will also agree upon the price. After 10pm, taxi expenses for the babysitter must also be covered.

Banking / ATMs

There are several banks and an ATM in Watamu. Please note that sometimes even EC cards will not be accepted by the ATM. Therefore please have your passport available for direct withdrawal at the counter.


Depending on season, there are up to two bars available to you. The Sunset Bar is located in the main building and opens the entire year. The opening hours of the Starlight Bar in the small pool area are dependant on season.


You can reach the beach on a small pathway next to House 1 (s. the plan in the lobby). At low tide, you can make your way to the long beach. Please note that it is strictly forbidden to take corals or mussels from the Marine Park with you.

Beach Boys

Your security is important to us. Please don’t book any boat trips, excursions or safaris with people you met on the beach. Even though their prices often seem relatively cheap, their offer usually includes no insurance or guarantee for a safe and carefree itinerary. Should you still opt to make such a booking, be advised to never pay in advance and please inform our reception of your absence.


Billiard cues are available directly at the table in the lobby. Our reception will provide you with the balls for a small deposit.

Birthdays and other events

We would be proud to host your event at the Temple Point Resort. Please contact us well in advance so that we can work on each of your ideas – be it a birthday cake, a special flower arrangements or a romantic candlelight dinner at our Honeymooners Pavilion.


You can find several souvenirs at our boutique in the main building, which are partially produced by “Help for Self Help” projects.


You can borrow free bicycles, helmets and locks at our reception. You will also be provided with a bicycle license that you will need to carry with you.

Cell phone

Do you have your cell phone with you? Reduce costs by buying a Kenyan SIM card at our boutique.

Coffee & tea

You can find new tea and coffee in your room each day.


Our concierge will be glad to help you with any questions or requests of any kind.


The conference rooms of our hotel can host up to 300 people and come equipped with a beamer, flipchart and a sound system.

Copying service

You can use our black-and-white copying service at the reception for a small fee.


On your last day, your room will be available to you up until 10 am. We also offer a late check-out option. Please contact us beforehand for organization and the fee involved. If you wish, we will store your luggage until your final departure.

New!! Diving school / Dive centre

The Temple Point Resort closely cooperates with the SSI diving station Extra Divers. Extra Divers diving center can be found directly at Temple Point Resort. They offer both daily as well as nocturnal dives as well as complete diving courses. A free-of-charge introduction for beginners can be arranged in our pool. If you wish to participate, please contact the reception or ask directly at the diving center. Open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

When you hear the majestic sound of the drums, lunch or dinner buffets have been opened.


Our rooms are equipped with triple-pole plug sockets (240 Volt). Because of current fluctuations in Kenya, we advise to disconnect sensible electronic devices when you are not using them.

Environmental protection

The Temple Point Resort is located right in the cradle of Mother Nature, embedded between the shores of the Marine National Park. Because of our love for the environment, we want to kindly ask you, to switch off the air condition as well as the TV while you are not in your room. Many guests also don’t want their towels changed every day – please choose yourself: a towel on the floor indicates “Please exchange!” while a towel on the rail means that you want to keep using it.

Our animation team will happily join you on small trips, e.g. into town.

Fire alarm

Please consult the rescue and emergency plan on the back of your door. In case of emergency, you can call the reception at 100.

Our gym room is available between 8am and 8pm. Please understand that for safety reasons, children under the age of 16 are not allowed in the gym.

You can borrow several entertaining board games for a small deposit at the reception.


There are two golf courses available nearby. You can visit the Watamu Golf Club or the Vipingo Ridge in Kilifi. Our reception would be happy to organize your visit.

Our library is located on the gallery above the lounge. You are welcome to borrow a book —or even leave behind one of your own.


The small lizards you might encounter are completely harmless and of great service. They feed on mosquitoes and are a protected species. Sometimes, they pay a visit to our guests in their room.

We’re pleased to carry your luggage to your room. Please contact us one day before your departure with the time you want your luggage to be picked up from your room.

Lunch boxes

If you wish to carry a lunch box with you (e.g. during an excursion), we will of course provide you with an assortment of fresh food. Please contact the reception.

Manager on duty

You can contact our hotel manager via the reception from 6:30am until 0am. He will provide help for all your unsettled requests.

Marine National Park

The hotel is situated right on the shores of the Marine National Park. The mangroves on the coast as well as the species populating them are environmentally protected. We kindly ask you to respect the natural habitat of those animals. Entering the park (e.g. during a boat trip) comes at a fee of 15 USD per day, collected by the Kenyan Wildlife Service (KWS). Our head of watersports will collect said fee for you.

Money exchange

You can exchange both EUR and USD for KSH at the reception. Please note that exchange of other currencies as well as conversion of KSH into other currencies is available solely at foreign exchange offices, e.g. at the airport.


To guarantee for a peaceful sleep, we have installed mosquito nets on top of each bed. Note that due to the amount of salt water in close proximity to the hotel there are only few mosquitoes. We still recommend using insect spray in the evening.


This practice is prohibited in Kenya, although bathing topless at the beach right in front of the hotel is usually tolerated.


You can find parking at the hotel’s drive- up. Please make sure to leave the emergency routes directly at the entrance unobstructed for fire fighters and ambulances. Usage of parking comes at your own risk and we can’t assume liability for any potential damages to your vehicle.


You can pay for your hotel bill either in cash (USD, EUR, KSH) or with credit card (VISA, Mastercard) at our cashier at the reception desk. We recommend doing so the night before your departure in order to avoid any unnecessary delays on your departure day.


Our Pizza Garden will be open from 4pm to 11pm each day, except for Friday.


Our two pools as well as the Jacuzzi are filled with saltwater.

You can drop your letters at the reception. Stamps as well as postcards are available for purchase at our boutique.

Each room is equipped with a refrigerator. You can deposit your medicine in it or collect your minibar-package at one of our bars (costs apply).


The hotel offers a selection of three restaurants:

The Clubhouse Restaurant in the main building, where buffets for breakfast, lunch, coffee/tea and dinner are being served (see “Mealtimes”).

The Sunset-Snackbar on the terrace of the main building, where you can order snacks à la carte from 12pm until 6pm.

The Pizza Garden in the Starlight Pool area. From 4pm until 11pm, you can order authentic Italian stone baked pizza here.

In order to maintain the vespertine atmosphere and to not disturb other guests, we kindly ask you to use shoes and not to wear beach clothing in the bars and restaurants. Gentlemen are kindly asked to wear no short-sleeved trousers or t-shirts.

Room keys

Please don’t take your room key to the beach or on excursions. Instead deposit it at the reception. In case you lose it, we will bill you the exchange of the lock for your own safety.

Room service

We will gladly serve you your meals in the room. This service costs 500 KSH per person. Please contact the reception under 100 on your room’s phone.


Right across the reception you can find our Tours & Safaris desk. You can arrange for excursions to one of the many nearby sights as well as into the national parks there.


There’s a safe readily available in your room. You can find the manual on top of it. Attention! The hotel will not be liable for any potential lose of valuable items.


There are some shops and markets in Watamu. The nearby town of Malindi offers a wider variety of goods though. You can also find small items like sunscreen or stamps in our boutique in the main building.


Smoking is only allowed on your room’s veranda as well as in front of the entrance of the hotel.


The sunlight at the equator is very intense. Please protect yourself as well as your children from it. It is advisable to wear sunscreen with a protective factor of at least 20, sunglasses, hat and t-shirt – especially on the beach. Also please don’t forget to drink enough water throughout the day.

Sun lounger

Our sun loungers at the pools and beach are available to use free of charge. Please contact the pool boy, should you not be able to find a free couch on your desired place.


You can find our table tennis area behind the Clubhouse Restaurant. You can borrow rackets for a small deposit at the reception.

Please contact the reception, to make sure your taxi will be readily available at your desired time.

Our tennis court is open from 8am until 8pm (extra charge for flood lights). You can borrow rackets for a small deposit at the reception.

Tides & Current

The hotel is located at the Mida Creek, an arm of the ocean that reaches deep into the country. Especially during low and high tide, there can be strong currents. Therefore, please don’t swim out too far. Our water sports team will be happy to provide you with the best times for water sports.


Each day, lots of busy hands are at work to make sure our guests enjoy the most perfect holidays. Some of them might be invisible to you. Therefore, we have installed a fair tipping box at the reception, shared by all our employees. Please consult your travel guide for information on tipping in Kenya.

Tour operator

You can find your tour operators blackboard with useful information in one of the adjoining rooms of the lobby.


You can borrow pool and beach towels at the reception for a small deposit in EUR, USD or KSH.

We offer a wide variety of channels. For protection of the environment, please switch off your TV, when you leave the room.

If you want to welcome visitors that are not guests at the Temple Point Resort, you can meet them in the public areas of the resort. Please note that without previously obtained permission from the management, visiting rooms is not allowed.

Wake up call

Do you wish to be punctually woken up in the morning? Please talk to the reception.


Our tap water is no drinking water. After boiling it, you can still use if for the preparation of tea and coffee; you can however always use it to brush your teeth. For other purposes, please use the daily refilled drinking water bottles in your room.

Water sports

Please contact our water sports team for any activities on the water. Be it kayaking, sailing or snorkelling, fish- and bird watching with out glasbottom boat or kite surfing.
